On May 10, 2024, Barangay Zion, Maitum, Sarangani Province,together with the PTF- ELCAC of Sarangani and MTF-ELCAC of Maitum, in collaboration with the Regional Task Force (RTF), held the Serbisyo Caravan Para Sa Sarangan and Dumanon Kailian initiatives.
Approximately 400 households in Barangay Zion received social welfare, health care, and educational assistance. Among rendered services were comprised of feeding programs, free circumcision and haircut, tooth extraction, medical check-ups with prescribed medicines, reading eyeglasses distribution, and slippers, among others.
Barangay Poblacion in Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat took center stage during Week 18 of the BarKaDa (Barangay Kalinisan Day) clean-up drive, a pivotal aspect of the nationwide KALINISAN (Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) Program.
Community residents, alongside the barangay local government unit, collaborated with various sectors including 4Ps, BPATS, BHW, Purok Presidents, and Senior Citizens, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the cause rooted in the spirit of Filipino Bayanihan.
Barangay Batian, a remote village in the Municipality of Maitum in Saragani province received various government services during the recent Lokal Serbisyo Caravan held by the Task Forces on End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) of the Region and Province of Sarangani last April 30, 2024.
Together with the Local Government Unit of Maitum, the task forces provided services such as free medical and dental check-ups, medicines, food packs, hygiene kits, free haircut and circumcision, seedlings, slippers, eyeglasses, livelihood assistance, and infrastructure projects with a total of 400 households.
Advocacies against illegal drugs and other best practices on local governance will soon be seen in bus televisions in Region XII as DILG Dose and bus operator Yellow Bus Line (YBL) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) supporting the government’s Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) Program, the national government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign, through the former’s advocacy platform, Bantala sang Dose.
DILG XII OIC-Regional Director Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero, CESE and YBL Operations Manager Bernardo Bolanio, representing General Manager Virginia Yap-Garcia, signed the MOA in a ceremonial signing held at DILG XII Office, Koronadal City, South Cotabato last May 3, 2024.
