The intensified government drive against illegal drugs resulted in the voluntary surrender of more than 7,000 drug users/pushers in the Province of Sultan Kudarat. Consequently, there is the need to evaluate each one of them to determine their level of drug dependency subject them to rehabilitative processes as the case warrants.
City Mayor Ronnel Rivera visited the beneficiaries who were situated in the most uphill village of barangay mabuhay which will took almost two-hour-ride from the city notwithstanding the backbreaking-and-winding- road-challenge.

The DILG being the lead convener of MASA MASID, a program designed to heighten community involvement by mobilizing the support of local stakeholders, volunteers, civic organizations, faith-based organizations, and the private sectors in the fight against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption, has provided an avenue for the Province to conduct an orientation for a core group of local government functionaries who will be in charge in ensuring that the MASA MASID Teams and Volunteers can effectively and efficiently deliver the needed intervention for drug surrenderers.
