RGADC XII and Red Cross Lead Bloodletting Drive for Women’s Month

In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) XII, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), conducted a bloodletting activity on March 24, 2025, at DILG XII Conference Hall, Prime Regional Center, City of Koronadal, South Cotabato, gathering RGADC XII members, DILG XII personnel, and health advocates to support life-saving efforts.

The bloodletting activity highlighted the vital contributions of women and men in community service and public health. RGADC XII Chairperson and DILG XII Regional Director Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero, CESE, emphasized that beyond policies and programs, empowering women also means engaging in meaningful humanitarian efforts that contribute to saving lives.

PRC South Cotabato Team Leader Ma’am Ruth Casiano also underscored the importance of the activity, stating, “Women play a crucial role in healthcare, not only as caregivers but also as donors and advocates. This bloodletting event is a tribute to their contributions, as well as an opportunity to promote public health and save lives, in line with the national directive to strengthen community participation in health programs.”

The PRC extended its gratitude to RGADC XII, reaffirming its commitment to organizing more health-related programs that benefit both women and the wider community. The organization also encouraged the public to continue supporting blood donation efforts, reminding everyone that a single donation can save multiple lives, echoing the government’s universal healthcare agenda, which prioritizes accessible and inclusive medical services for all.

As National Women’s Month continues, PRC and its partners will hold more activities promoting women’s rights, health, and community involvement. Those interested in donating blood or volunteering for future events can visit the nearest PRC—South Cotabato Chapter in the City of Koronadal.
