The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has released the consolidated results of the CY 2024 Functionality Assessment for the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC). This annual assessment is crucial in monitoring and evaluating the performance of LCPCs based on key indicators, including organizational sustainability, policies and plans for children, budget allocation for children, and service delivery monitoring and management for children.

In Region XII, the results were as follows: 28 LGUs achieved the Ideal Level of Functionality; 23 LGUs reached the Mature Level of Functionality; and 1 LGU was rated as Progressive. Overall, it was observed that 52.83% of LGUs attained the highest level of functionality, reflecting a strong commitment to child protection and welfare.

On behalf of the DILG, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all LCPCs for their unwavering commitment to implementing Programs, Plans, and Activities (PPAs) for children. This steadfast support significantly contributes to advancing the mandates of the LCPC and ensuring the well-being of children within the region.

The CY 2024 Functionality Assessment results underscore the dedication of LGUs to uphold and advance children's rights and protection. The DILG remains committed to supporting these efforts, ensuring that every child receives the care and protection they deserve.
