In order to comply with President Duterte’s directive to streamline frontline services and the licensing and permit system in the entire government bureaucracy, DILG pushes LGUs not only to comply with the revised standards set as per DILG-DTI-DICT Joint Memorandum Circular No. 01, series of 2016, but to go for automation in support of the ease of doing business at the local level.
DILG XII, in partnership with Department of Information and Communications Technology XII, conducted the Coaching and Mentoring of LGUs in BPLS Automation/Computerization cum e-BPLS User Training. The three-day activity was held on November 27-29, 2017 at Viajera Dine and Café, Koronadal City with thirty-nine (39) participants composed of DILG South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat Provincial BPLS Focal Persons, and DILG C/MLGOOs, LCEs, BPLOs, Treasurers, Health Officers, Engineering Officers, Fire Marshalls and IT Officers from the following LGUs: (1) Koronadal City, South Cotabato; (2) Tupi, South Cotabato; and (3) Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat.
The training provided the said LGUs necessary knowledge on the revised BPLS standards and develop technical skills on automating/computerizing their BPLS using the e-BPLS software developed by DICT. At the end of the activity, participants were able to: (1) be provided with relevant information on the revised standards in processing business permits and licenses; (2) familiarize with technical aspects, actual functioning and efficiency of the e-BPLS software; (3) determine the roles and responsibilities of LGUs on e-BPLS implementation; and (4) outline plan of actions in order to effectively implement the program.
