The Department of the Interior and Local Government participated in the conduct of the First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on March 31, 2017 at DILG XII Compound, Koronadal City. 

At exactly 2:00 PM, the siren rang as a signal of ground shaking. The Regional Office Personnel readily performed the duck, cover and hold. When the siren stopped, they quickly vacated to the designated evacuation area where they assembled and performed the headcount. The activity was evaluated by Ismael Patadon and Jessilou Frugalidad, both DILG XII personnel and trained in the conduct of earthquake drill.

In her message, ARD Lailyn A. Ortiz encouraged everyone to become advocates of Disaster Resilience and Preparedness and start this at home. 

The activity is in pursuant to NDRRMC Memorandum Circular No. 46 s. 2017 which aims to evaluate the efficiency of response, preparedness, and recovery plans including the systems and policies of government offices. Similar activity was done in the Provincial Offices and LGUs through the efforts of their respective DRRM Offices.
