Residents of Sitio Spring, Brgy. Monteverde, Municipality of Bagumbayan in Sultan Kudarat were grateful for the farm to market road project formally turned over by DILG XII to the Local Government of Bagumbayan last June 4, 2024.
The 400-meter road project aims to efficiently transport farm products, improve access and delivery of basic services, and provide safer road access to residents and commuters.
A total of Php 6.6 million was allotted to complete the project under the 2023 Local Government Support Fund – Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP), a government program in support to Executive Order No. 70, or the whole of nation approach towards inclusive and secure communities in the country. SBDP provides infrastructure support and social services to barangays that were cleared of insurgencies to address their development needs.
Home to a diverse of residents and one of the town’s farthest barangays, Barangay Monteverde was recently cleared of the strongholds of the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Party- National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) in 2021, Bagumbayan Mayor Jonalette E. De Pedro said.
Mayor De Pedro expressed her gratitude for the project as this will also help provide better transport experience for students going to school.
Badrudin Madali, the Municipal Local Government Operations Officer and Engr. Kent Zxl Jan D. Ramirez, Engineer III, represented DILG XII. They expressed their gratitude to LGU-Bagumbayan for accepting the project.
Also in attendance during the turn-over ceremony were 1LT Jess Noel P. Pasague (INF) PA, and Punong Barangay Flora T. Diama.
