ELCAC-PRLEC Meeting Focuses on Farm to Market Roads in Region 12

The Poverty Reduction, Livelihood, and Employment Cluster (PRLEC), chaired by the Department of Agriculture Region XII (DA XII), conducted an ELCAC-PRLEC meeting on June 13, 2024, at the DA XII Conference Room, Prime Regional Government Center, City of Koronadal, South Cotabato. The meeting aimed to discuss the implementation plan for the proposed 88 kilometers of Farm to Market Roads (FMRs) within the ELCAC target barangays in Region 12.

 

DA XII Deputy Project Director John B. Pascual presided over the meeting, acknowledging and thanking the support and active participation of the member agencies of the Joint Validation Team. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region XII, through its Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) and Project Development Monitoring Unit (PDMU), attended the meeting as the Vice-Chair of the Joint Validation Team.

 

Other attendees included representatives from the Philippine Army, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) XII, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) XII, and the Provincial Task Forces of Cotabato, Sarangani, and South Cotabato.

 

The meeting focused on finalizing the implementation plan for the Farm to Market Roads, which are expected to significantly improve access and economic opportunities in the target barangays, supporting the broader goals of poverty reduction and economic development in the region.
