In a spirit of solidarity and harmony, the Department of the Interior and Local Government XII celebrated for the first time Ramadan Iftar as part of its WELL-CARE Program on April 8, 2024 at Wagi Hall, DILG Regional Office XII, Koronadal City. The solemn ceremony brought together DILG Dose personnel, both Muslim and non-Muslim, in an act of inclusivity and communal reverence.
The occasion was made even more meaningful with Sheikh Eisa Javier, the President of Salam Pilipinas Organization, who graced the event as the guest speaker. Sheikh Javier's words resonated deeply, emphasizing the values of compassion, unity, and understanding that define the essence of Ramadan. Also present during the event is Ms. Leamor B. Bañaga, the Senior Manager of the Community Relations Department of Dole Philippines, Inc., and Ms. Liza D. Hora, the Executive Director of Mahintana Foundation, Inc. and Chairperson of the Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Council (MSAC) XII. Their presence underscored the significance of collaborative efforts between DILG Dose and Dole Philippines, Inc. in promoting positive peace in SOCCSKSASRGEN.
In her opening message, Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero, CESE, OIC – Regional Director of DILG Dose, expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards all participants for their unwavering support and commitment to fostering interfaith dialogue and cooperation. She emphasized the importance of events like the Ramadan Iftar celebration in promoting understanding and mutual respect among diverse communities.
The evening was filled with heartfelt conversations and shared laughter, symbolizing the bonds of friendship and solidarity that transcend differences. The event serves as a reminder that, regardless of faith or background, we are all united in our shared humanity.
