In a concerted effort to bolster local governance and foster sustainable development, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Rehiyon Dose recently concluded a fruitful collaboration meeting with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on February 13, 2024 at Wagi Hall, DILG Regional Office XII. This significant gathering, held under the banner of the PLANADOse program, marks a pivotal moment in advancing cooperative initiatives among key stakeholders towards the realization of shared objectives.
The meeting, graced by the presence of OIC Regional Director Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero, CESE, underscored the imperative of synergizing efforts among partner agencies, particularly in the implementation of the Regional Institutional Development Support (RIDS) program. Atty. Mahinay-Sero emphasized that the PLANADOse initiative heralds a new era of strengthened collaboration aimed at enhancing the performance of local government units (LGUs) through capacity development and strategic interventions.
Central to the deliberations was the presentation of the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) status by LGOO V Mary Eulen Y. Abdilah, shedding light on the progress and challenges encountered in local development planning. Furthermore, the Division Chief of DHSUD - ELUPDD, Mr. Alberto Sero Jr., EnP., elucidated on the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) status, accentuating the critical role of spatial planning in sustainable urban development.
The meeting culminated with a resounding commitment from Rehiyon Dose's Chief of Staff, Atty. Ryan Alair, who articulated the collective resolve of DILG Dose and DHSUD XII to spearhead innovative interventions aimed at addressing the deficiencies hindering LGUs from qualifying for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG). Atty. Alair expressed gratitude for the collaborative program, which is poised to provide vital support to regional projects geared towards fulfilling the stringent requirements of the SGLG.
