Additional local projects from 9 Local Government Units (LGUs) in the region were formally endorsed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII to DILG Central Office for funding under the Department’s 2020 Assistance to Municipalities (AM) program, DILG XII- Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) confirmed.
Last week, DILG XII endorsed the said local projects which included eight road-related projects, one evacuation center and the procurement of two vehicles for disaster risk reduction-related purposes.
These local projects were proposed by the Municipalities of Lambayong, Bagumbayan, and Esperanza from Sultan Kudarat Province; Municipalities of Arakan, Kabacan, Mlang, Magpet, and Tulunan from the Province of Cotabato; and Municipality of Malungon from Sarangani Province.
The endorsement came after the proponent LGUs have successfully completed the governance and technical requirements of the program.
A total funding of Php 88, 089, 000.00 is expected to be downloaded to the proponent LGUs with 281,391 estimated residents benefiting the projects once completed. LGU Magpet has also allocated Php 1, 800,000.00 as counterpart for its proposed road project.
Last March, DILG XII also endorsed five local road projects for funding under the same program from four local government units (LGUs) in Cotabato. The projects have a total budget of Php 41, 794, 000.00 and at least 13, 283 residents are projected to benefit from it.

AM program is part of DILG’s Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) which aims to assist all municipalities in delivering basic services and implementing priority programs and projects included in their respective Local Development Investment Plans.
