On December 26, 2019, the DILG Region XII launched Code ZOE or Covenant for the Development of Zone on the Environment. The project is in pursuant to the DILG XII’s mantra: “Leading to Uphold Personnel in Advancing Development to Deliver Organization’s Services with Excellence" by cultivating deeper appreciation on sustainable living and responsible stewardship.

The ceremony was conducted during the 4th Quarter Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) Meeting presided by Sultan Kudarat Provincial Governor Suharto T. Mangudadato, Al Haj, with Regional Director Josephine Cabrido- Leysa, CESO III attending and other RPOC members in attendance at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City, South Cotabato.

LGOO II Jon Leo J. Licayan, CPA presented a briefer about the said advocacy program.  He emphasized that being aware of what is happening to our natural environment, and how we can take care of it is critical for the future generations to enjoy.

Accordingly, he encouraged the members of the RPOC to do three things in support to the program: First, like the Code ZOE Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/dilg12codezoe; second, share the Code ZOE page posts on environment protection and sustainable living; and third, exercise sustainability by doing small acts for the environment until it becomes their way of life.

In response, the RPOC XII passed a resolution endorsing Code ZOE to the Local Government Units in Region XII for their adoption and support.
