The Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards (LTIA) is one of the programs of the Department which provides motivation to all Lupons regionwide to further improve and strive for excellence in the performance of their mandated duties and responsibilities.
As such, the Department conducts a yearly evaluation on the performance of outstanding lupons regionwide. This year’s assessment, which was conducted last March 2019, resulted to the inclusion of Barangay Poblacion, Tupi, South Cotabato in the shortlist, as validated by the National Board of Judges on August 13, 2019. The said Barangay was also awarded as the1st Runner-Up in CY 2018.
The National Board of Judges (NBOJ) was headed by Assistant Director Vivian P. Suansing of BLGS-DILG as Chairperson, Assistant State Prosecutor Marmarie P. Satin-Vivas of DOJ, Acting Deputy Executive Officer Myrna D.P. Medina of NAPOLCOM, Executive Director John Patrick Agustin of Liga ng mga Barangay as members.
The validation was also attended by Hon. Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., Governor of South Cotabato Province, Hon. Romeo S. Tamayo, Municipal Mayor of Tupi, South Cotabato and Dir. Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO V, Regional Director of DILG XII, together with the personnel from DILG Region XII, to show their support to Barangay Poblacion.
The national team has thoroughly inspected and reviewed the Lupon documents, performances on the settlement procedures, accomplishments, and its innovations on how to promote the Katarungang Pambarangay in accordance with the criteria set forth by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Memorandum Circular No. 2016-58 dated April 29, 2016 entitled ”Reiterating and Supplementing DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2008-102 dated June 17, 2008 relative to the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards Enhanced Criteria and Guidelines”.
The National Awarding Ceremony is set this coming October 2019.
