In order to address the gaps on the lack of number of technical personnel on the functionalities and use of RBIS-GIS the Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office 12 hold a training workshop on Training of Road and Bridge Information System last May 29-31, 2019 at Viajera Dine and Café. Among the participants are the Provincial Planning Development Coordinator, PPDO Personnel, Provincial Engineer, PEO Personnel, and Provincial RBIS and GIS Focal Persons.
Clyde B. Malicay, Information Systems Analyst and CMGP Program Management Officer and Raymond Rodriguez were the resource speakers of the training workshop. The resource speakers made mention about the digitized local road map. It is a requirement in the PGRR particularly on the area of local road management.
“This tool is not just a compliance for the LGUs but this is a great help for them to identify road gaps.” Clyde Malicay says that with LRNDP it could be a good basis for the PPDO as they can clearly visualize the unpaved roads.
During the said workshop every LGU was reminded about the submission of the Local Road Inventory and Digitalized Local Road Network Map that was extended until June 30, 2019.
