Modern technology proved to be helpful for DILG XII as the strict implementation of social distancing even among government workers is strictly being observed and adhered to. “Thanks to this available app and we were able to have our virtual meeting despite the distance of each participant,” said Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, who presided over the online conference.
The Director, who personally leads the CoVid-19 OpCen at the DILG XII Regional Center, also stated her appreciation for the technical assistance of the Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) people who arranged for the teleconference to be possible. Participants were members of the Regional ManCom who were scattered in various provinces in the region.
The meeting served as the venue for discussion of vital issues and sharing of information from the various provincial offices, along with the concerns of the division chiefs who joined the virtual meet.
During the start of the conference, Director Leysa highlighted the need to comply with the national issuances and directives, especially those which are coming from the DILG Central Office and Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases. “Our goal is to achieve the “Zero Show-Cause” status for Region XII” which translates to our adherence to whatever instruction is handed down to the field,” according to Dir. Leysa.
“Clearly, there are petty issues that can be settled at the local level at hindi na kailangan pang umabot sa national level,” Director Leysa added.
She reminded all MLGOOs to abide by the guidance issued by DILG Sec. Eduardo M. Ano which calls for the wearing of face masks at all times, even beyond the quarantine period.
