The DILG Region XII conducted the Regional Briefing on Civil Society Organizations Strengthening Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships towards Fully-Functional LDCs last October 23 to 24, 2018 at the Paraiso Verde Hotel, Koronadal City. It was participated in by the DILG Officers and representatives from the different Civil Society Organizations coming from Cotabato City, General Santos City, Cotabato Province, South Cotabato Province, Sarangani Province and Sultan Kudarat Province.
Jose Denver Calo, Assistant Division Chief of Bureau of Local Government Relation Division (LGRD) of the BLGS, Jermie A. Erie-Yeager, Assistant Division Chief and Albert Jay C. Braga, Community Development Officer III of DILG RO XII discussed the provisions of the Memorandum Circular.
The activity provided an avenue for discussion of the Department’s guidelines on CSO Engagements and the various programs that the CSOs may engaged with the DILG Regional and Provincial Offices.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) recognizes the importance of developing a strong collaborative relationship between the government and the civil society by promoting a more meaningful participation from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in its programs and projects, to ensure that programs and projects that will be co-implemented with CSOs are properly and efficiently executed, funds are properly utilized/liquidated and strictly complied Memorandum Circular No. 2018-89 dated June 11, 2018 “Guidelines on Engagement with Civil Organizations”.
