The Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) XII headed by Governor Suharto T. Mangudadatu, PhD of Sultan Kudarat Province with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region XII as the Head Secretariat, ended the year with a joyful fellowship during the conduct of RPOC 4th Quarter Face-to- Face Meeting-cum- Year-End Activity on November 13, 2020 at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill, City of Koronadal, South Cotabato.
The chairperson Hon. Mangudadatu, has called for the 4th quarter meeting for 2020 to end the year by assessing the current peace and order and public safety situation of region 12.
The RPOC Chair expressed his elation to the twenty six (26) out of the thirty eight (38) Members of the council present. He also appreciated Governor Steve C Solon of Sarangani Province who was not able to make it physically but attended the meeting via Zoom application.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of Action Plans by the four (4) Special Action Committees under the RPOC namely the SAC on Anti- Insurgency and Preventing Violent Extremism, SAC on Anti- Criminality, SAC on Public Safety and the Crisis Management Committee which were adopted and approved by the council. Region XII Peace and Order Situation and accomplishments of the law enforcement agencies and the friendly forces from AFP were also presented and they were given due recognition by the council thru resolutions entitled “Resolution Commending the Joint Elements of AFP and PNP XII in the Neutralization of a Certain Arafat Bulacon, identified to be member of the Dawlah Islamiya” and “Resolution Commending the 10th ID, Philippine Army for the Exemplary Leadership and Sustained Effort in the fight against Insurgency and Lawlessness”. The declaration of Communists Terrorist Groups (CTGs) and Local Terrorist Groups (LTGs) in Region XII as persona Non- grata was also discussed during the meeting.
The RPOC XII was able to pass a total of ten (10) resolutions, among these are resolutions enjoining all LGUs of Region 12 to support the following; Establishment of Provincial Mobile Forces Companies of the PNP XII, the Campaign on Loose Firearms, the Land Conflict in some areas of Cotabato Province, the Establishment of Crisis Management Operations Center and the Support to the Barangay Development Program to RCSP Target Barangays.
The activity concluded with a gift-giving in line with the Christmas spirit of giving and caring. The RPOC Chairperson received memorable gifts from the members of the council. Lucky RPOC members and participants went home with something to remember, having won in a raffle draw. Thanks to the generosity and kindness of the RPOC Chairperson.
