The Disaster Preparedness Committee of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Committee conducted its first virtual meeting on February 2, 2022. It was attended by 14 member-agencies and presided over by the DILG XII Regional Director and Vice Chairperson for Disaster Preparedness Committee, Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III.

Mr. Binrio A. Biñan of PAGASA Gensan discussed the weather outlook while Ms. Sheila Mae G. Kubik of DILG XII presented the status of compliance of LGUs on the formulation of Public Service Continuity and Contingency Plan. 43 out of 45 LGUs have already submitted their PSCP to the Office of Civil Defense XII.

Ms. Karen Cimeni of OCD XII then presented the DRRM Calendar of Activities. Among others, there will be Introductory Courses on DRRM and PSCP, and Exercise Design Course for the RDRRMC member agencies and LDRRMCs on the first quarter. There will also be CBDRRM and EOC Training for LDRRMOs and Basic ICS Training for volunteers on the second quarter while the third quarter will focus on DRRM Trainings for public sector utilities and CBDRRM Trainings for CSOs. The Committee supported the said calendar of activities through a resolution.

The 3rd Wave for Hatid Tulong ng Dose sa Trese: A Relief Assistance Operation for Typhoon Odette Victims on March 3-4, 2022 was also initially discussed.
