As part of the DILG XII’s commitment to foster personnel development and growth by strengthening professionalism and continual learning, a Refresher course for drivers on various topics like Traffic Rules and Regulations, Handling of VIPs, Ethical Standards, Social Graces and ISO Reporting was conducted last April 16-17, 2019 at the Punta Isla Lake Resort in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.
The event was conducted in order to update and refresh the knowledge of the DILG XII drivers on road safety and courtesy, defensive driving and riding tips. They were also treated to the timely and relevant topics on values, proper qualities and responsibilities in driving, etiquette and transportation - related ordinances.
The resource persons for the said course included Mansor A. Mangontra and Norhanna D. Rangaig of LTO XII, Randolf V. Lagman and Alfred Y. Patron of PSPU – PRO XII, and Jim C. Raborar of ATI XII.
For her part, Regional Director Josephine Leysa emphasized the need for the learnings to sink in to become better or best performing drivers of the Department. She encouraged the participants to never stop learning and to take every training as an opportunity to gain more knowledge which can be very helpful in carrying out their duties and responsibilities as public servants.
One of the main highlights of the Activity was the Social Graces Workshop where the Participants were able to become familiar with good grooming, proper table manners and etiquette and the dos and don’ts of fine dining.
The Activity ended with the sharing of ideas and insights by the participants and their commitments to apply new learning experiences in their daily office tasks.
