The proliferation of illegal drugs is a problem that has adversely affected the Philippine society today is considered as one of the major obstacles to the country’s economic growth and social progress. It is imperative that the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), along with partner national agencies, intensify their efforts to fight illegal drugs.
Headed by the Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO V, together with Assistant Regional Director Lailyn A. Ortiz, CESO V, all of the DILG XII key personnel, Provincial Directors, Division Chiefs, technical and administrative staff, DILG XII utility workers and security guards revisited the DILG XII Action plan on the war against illegal drugs, identified our performance gap and prioritize our other deliverables for the second semester of 2019. The resource persons for the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS) and ADAC Assessment Result included PDO IV Arthur P. Condes and LGOO V Muhammad G. Nanding, Jr. Both resource persons attended the recently held activity in Metro Manila on the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy which was sponsored by the Dangerous Drugs Board.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jim C. Raborar of DA-Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) XII shared pointers and basic knowledge on Social Graces, Etiquette and Customer Service.
The DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO V, who is well-travelled, also willingly shared her previous experiences on fine dining and table manners, along with some mishaps and fun stories. Based on her previous encounters, RD Leysa emphasized how essential it is for all personnel of DILG XII who from time to time are dealing with high ranking officials of the Department and other agencies to become familiar with the basic etiquette in fine dining.
One of the main highlights of the said activity was the tribute to LGOO V Pembayong A. Kadatuan, and Kendak A. Umar who were set to retire last April 30, 2019. A fitting recognition through a simple Testimonial Program led by the Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO V together with the Assistant Regional Director Lailyn A. Ortiz, CESO V, all of the Provincial Directors and regional employees was set for them.
Ms. Kadatuan, fondly called by co-workers as ‘Penny’, had given 37 years of her life in government service while Mr. Umar or ‘Kaka Kenny’ to everyone, devoted 26 years of service to the government in his capacity as a Security Guard. Both were awarded Plaques of Appreciation for giving invaluable dedication, compassion and loyalty to the Department. Friends of the retirees, together with fellow employees from the DILG Regional Office XII also offered their love gifts and delivered fitting and touching parting messages as a sign of their gratitude to the honorees.
The activity was capped with the Regional Director conveying her gratitude to each one for our modest contributions in making the activity a success and for the delivery of our targets/deliverables for the first semester of 2019.
