August 19, 2024 – DILG Dose personnel participated in the discussion on Family Planning in celebration of the National Family Planning Month. The session aimed to highlight the significant benefits of family planning in enhancing the well-being of Filipino families.
Planning Officer II Joybelle O. Rodriguez, RN, MAN, RPFP Focal of the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) XII, as resource person, highlighted how family planning can reduce maternal and child mortality, empower families to make informed decisions, and break the cycle of poverty through better resource allocation. More so, the discussion covered the role of family planning in public health, emphasizing its contribution to better health outcomes for mothers, children, and families as a whole. By preventing unintended pregnancies, family planning reduces maternal mortality, improves child health, and enhances overall family well-being.
This initiative is one of many ongoing efforts by various agencies to raise awareness and improve family planning practices across the country.
