DILG RD mulls work-from-home scheme amid case of possible local transmission

DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III expressed the possibility of work-from-home scheme for the regional and field offices of the Department, after confirmed information about a possible local transmission case had been recorded in Sultan Kudarat.

This was the message of the Regional Director to all the employees and management of DILG XII on Monday as she issued additional precautions and warnings against those who take minimum health protocols lightly.

Earlier, Director Leysa challenged all employees and personnel to adhere, not just to the “minimum health standard” but maximum health standard na, kung pwede - for your health, for your family, for your community.

On August 13 (Thursday), a resident of Isulan, Sultan Kudarat died due to COVID-19 after complaining of fever and mild cough.

“If the situation calls for it, after this convocation, we might discuss, along with the Executive Committee members, to adopt the work-from-home scheme so as to lower the number of persons who report to the Regional Office,” Dir. Leysa said.

She said, DILG Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office, as precaution, has started adopting a work-from-home-arrangement. “Koronadal City, among others, is one of the identified places that has been visited by the victim’s family and it means we have to establish some measures to limit our exposure and that of our family members as well,” the Director added.

To date, Isulan’s Task Force against COVID-19 have already isolated and conducted swab testing to the victim’s close contacts prior to her death which include her husband, children, relatives, neighbors, and co-teachers.

The LGU ensures contact tracing would continue to ensure no local transmission would occur.

“Like what we have been telling our people time and again, there is no reason to relax and drop our guard yet…” Director Leysa further remarked.
