The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Dose, led by Regional Director Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero, CESE, met with two key provincial leaders on January 23, 2025, for a New Year’s call to solidify partnership and discuss priorities for 2025.
RD Sero first met with South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. at his guest house in Tupi, South Cotabato. The meeting centered on the intensification of efforts toward regional peace and order and the empowerment of barangays.
Governor Tamayo thanked the DILG for being their active partners in maintaining peace, order, and security. Moreover, he reiterated his unwavering support for DILG’s initiatives, particularly those that strengthen grassroots governance and promote sustainable development.
Later in the day, RD Sero visited Governor Datu Pax Ali S. Mangudadatu at the Provincial Capitol of Sultan Kudarat. The meeting emphasized collaboration in fostering peace and progress for the province and entire region.
Governor Mangudadatu expressed his continued commitment to supporting DILG programs, particularly in strengthening local government units and ensuring that the province remains a driver of growth and stability in Region 12. “By the end of the year, we aim to achieve a 100% SGLG passing rate in the province,” Governor Mangudadatu committed.
Both governors assured their steadfast support for DILG initiatives, particularly in strengthening local autonomy, empowering local government units, and fostering peace and progress in their respective provinces.
Director Sero expressed gratitude for the governors’ dedication and partnership, noting that their leadership is instrumental in advancing DILG’s mission. “The unwavering commitment of Governors Tamayo and Mangudadatu inspires us to continue working toward peace, order, and sustainable development in Region 12,” she stated.
