DILG admin personnel of Region XII held nothing back to express their appreciation and gratefulness to the efforts shown by the regional management led by RD Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO V, in the recently concluded retooling seminar held in General Santos City.
Sixty-three personnel who showed up for the two-day activity were all in one voice as they said “thank you” in their own little way during the commencement part of the ‘human-resources enrichment’ event, considered by attendees to be one of its kind and was made possible only during the latter part of RD Leysa’s 7-month term.
Supervising Administrative Officer Engr. Mary Ann Traspe initiated the gathering of impressions from the participants, asking them for whatever effect the training had on their lives as government workers.
“In my 10 years (in government) service, this is the first time that the (regional) management has given special attention and time for us, (the) admin personnel,” quipped Sittie Kasan of Cotabato Province. She believes that “having a lady boss means a lot inasmuch as she is more sensitive to the needs of her people”. Ma’am RD, according to Sittie, “is like a mother to us all.”
On the other hand, Flaviana Surita, Administrative Assistant from South Cotabato provincial office hopes that “there would be another session,” believing that “learning is a continuous (process) and it should never stop after the first session”. She said she felt “overwhelmed” since it was the first time that the management gave them considerable attention and pampering through the retooling activity.
For Ms. Ivy Joy C. Serrano, an employee from the Regional Office, the topics discussed during the development session served as a “refresher’. She proposed that this type of session will also be made available to the newly- hired personnel. For her part, Ivy said: “I will put into practice all the things that I have learned in this seminar.”
Joanne Castre, a statistician from the Regional Office, articulated her appreciation by saying that the topics were comprehensive and well- explained, given by the credible resource persons. “I am so grateful that I had been a part of this first development session, ” Joanne said.
Indeed, all the others who did not speak in front of the group personally conveyed their message of thanks to the regional director, with tears welling up their eyes, saying that the development session for administrative personnel “will definitely help them boost their motivation” as they provide efficient and quality services to the people. Truly, they all agreed that they will be better persons, employees after the said activity.
