22ND WEEK BARKADA CLEAN-UP DRIVE A TESTAMENT TO COMMUNITY SPIRIT AND ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

In a bid to promote a healthy and safe environment through effective solid waste management, the nationwide community-based clean-up drive program, BarKaDa, continues to make significant strides. This initiative is in line with the DILG Memorandum Circular Number 2023-133, issued on September 6, 2023, which underscores the importance of Barangay at Kalinisan Day (BarKaDa).

Now in its 22nd week, the program is highlighting the efforts of Kalawag II in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, as part of the Rehiyon Dose region's ongoing participation. The community's dedication was emphasized by Punong Barangay Rene F. Aristoza, who delivered a message of commitment.

"Our council did not hesitate for a moment to accept the challenge of being the featured barangay for the 22nd week," he stated, highlighting the collective effort required for the success of the initiative.

The clean-up drive saw enthusiastic participation from community residents and key figures, including Acting Municipal Mayor Atty. Arnold H. Armada. Various sectors such as the 4Ps, BPATS, BHW, Purok Presidents, and Sangguniang Kabataan also took part, demonstrating their unwavering support. The involvement of DILG Regional and Provincial personnel, led by OIC Regional Director Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero, CESE, further underscored the program's broad-based commitment, rooted in the spirit of Filipino Bayanihan.

The event culminated in a symbolic pledge  led by SK Chairman Nor Salik A. Kalipa with all participants vowing to uphold the principles of cleanliness, environmental stewardship, and communal harmony. This collective vow highlighted their dedication to fostering a cleaner, healthier community, marking another successful chapter in the BarKaDa program's ongoing efforts to enhance the nation's environment.
