SOCCSKSARGEN Region made it to the top tier of regions from all over the Philippines to have 100% compliance of all Local Government Units in Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH). This was bared today by DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, in a meeting with the regional ExeCom. “My warmest congratulations to all of our 53 local government units in Region XII which were declared Passers Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) for CY 2022. It is a great honor to have achieved such, thanks to the perseverance and the tenacity of our field officers,” RD Leysa announced.
The inclusion to the Top post was shared with the National Capital Region (NCR), based on DILG – Bureau of Local Government Supervision (BLGS) Memorandum dated February 2, 2023 issued by OIC-Director Debie T. Torres, CESO V. The memo also revealed that only 1,450, or 85%, of the 1,715 local government units assessed nationwide were deemed fully compliant with the GFH criteria.
Pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2014-39, the GFH is conferred to an LGU that ‘exhibits compliance with accounting and auditing standards, rules and regulations, i.e most recent available COA Audit Opinion is either unqualified or qualified as well as compliance with the DILG's Full Disclosure Policy where all required financial documents are posted in three conspicuous places and in the FDP portal for the second to fourth quarters of CY 2021 and first quarter of CY 2022.’
Good Financial Housekeeping (previously known as the Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping) is a program of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) that supports the promotion of transparent and accountable local government units.
